Program A New Garage Door Remote

Program a new garage door remote.

Step 1 collect devices to reprogram. When purchasing a universal garage door remote check that it is compatible with your make and model of your garage remote equipment. Select remote to program from the program menu. The garage door opener lights will flash or two clicks will be heard.

Press and release the button on the remote control that you wish to operate your garage door. Press and hold the program set button for about 2 seconds. Depress and hold the button labelled l learn or set on the new remote control unit. Press the button on the remote control that you wish to operation your garage door.

Hold the button down until the activator light on the garage door opener starts flashing then release the button. Use the navigation buttons to scroll to program. Program using your smart control panel. Test the new garage door remote by pressing once to see if the door moves.

The remote control is programmed. You can program a universal garage door remote to suit your garage door opener. Most likely they are all compatible but it best to make sure before purchasing. To program a new remote into the system hold the learn button until the indicator light blinks on the opener.

While the indicator light is blinking press the button on your remote.
